ZoLi's anti-colic venting system used on the bottles is a specially designed nipple with the valve attached directly to the nipple. This valve eliminates air from entering baby's liquid and helps to reduce incidences of spit up and colic.

Are ZoLi bottles microwave safe?
Although we do not recommend heating any plastics in the microwave, ZoLi's bottles can be warmed in the microwave. If you choose to heat formula or milk in the microwave, remove the nipple ring and nipple prior to heating and make sure to test the temperature and shake the bottle before feeding as the microwave creates hot spots in formula or milk.

Why do you use silicone for your Munch teethers?
Silicone is selected for the teethers because it is an inert material that is non-toxic, hygienic, durable and resistant to bacteria. Silicone is made of silicon, which is a natural element found in organic materials like sand, quartz, and rock. Silicon is then transformed into silicone when it is combined with oxygen, carbon, and hydrogen. Because it is a natural material, it is free of toxic chemicals such as Bisphenol-A (BPA), phthalates, nitrosamine, lead and polyvinylchloride (PVC).

Why doesn't your Munch teethers have color?
Because silicone is such a safe and non-toxic material and babies naturally love the soft and pliable texture of the teethers, we did not see the need to add dyes to it.

How do you clean the straw on BOT Straw Sippy Cups?
BOT Straw Sippy Cups are dishwasher safe; however if you wish to clean the straws separately, there are two simple methods:
1)Fill your BOT cup with warm to hot water. Close the lid and shake the cup. With a closed lid and warm / hot water inside, a natural pressure is created inside the cup so when you release the straw, the water will squirt out of the straw, thus flushing the straw clean.
2)Take the straw and run it under the faucet. While it is under the faucet, rub the straw up and down between your fingers and it will get remove whatever "muck" might be there.

Can you place hot liquids, carbonated beverages or juices with pulp inside the BOT cup?
Hot liquids, carbonated beverages, and juices with pulp are NOT recommended You can place lukewarm beverages inside the cup, but anything warm will create a pressure so be prepared that there might be some liquid that will flow up through the straw.

What size nipples come with your bottles?
Stage 1 nipples come standard with both the 5 oz and 10 oz bottles. Stage 1 is our slowest flow and is generally for newborns up to 4 months. If your baby seems to be taking a really long time drinking or sucking too hard, you might want to consider moving to a faster flow nipple. Stage 2 is our medium flow and is for babies 4 – 8 months. Stage 3 is our fasted flow and is for babies 9 months and up. The ages provided for the nipples are guidelines only. Your baby will ultimately indicate to you whether the flow is too slow or too fast.

How do I sterilize ZoLi products?

What are phthalates and why is it harmful?
Phthalates are commonly used as softeners or plasticizers to make polyvinyl chloride (PVC) soft and flexible. They are endocrine disruptors and believed to interfere with normal development of a fetus or child and linked to problems with the reproductive system.

top^

Why is PVC harmful?
Polyvinyl chloride, also known as vinyl or PVC poses risks to both the environment and human health. PVC needs additives and stabilizers to make it useable. For example, lead is often added for strength, while plasticizers are added for flexibility. Low-level exposures are associated with decreased birth weight, learning and behavioral problems in children, suppressed immune function and disruption of hormones in the body. PVC threatens environmental and consumer health at every stage of its product life cycle, according to the Center for Health, Environment, and Justice (CHEJ). PVC is also the least recyclable plastic.
